news.bbc.co.uk – An off-duty Ministry of Defence police dog handler has taken a video of what he claims is a panther-sized big cat.

Pc Chris Swallow was helping a friend with their garden in Helensburgh, Argyll, when he spotted the black creature on a nearby railway line.

The officer, who is stationed at the Faslane naval base on the Clyde, said the cat was as big as a Labrador dog.

Big cats have been reported in the area in the past, with several sightings of the so-called Coulport Cougar.

Pc Swallow said he saw the animal on 30 June while working in the garden at Kildonan Drive, Helensburgh. He could tell it was not a Labrador, as he first thought, because of the way it was walking, and because its tail was about twice the length that a dog’s would have been.

He said: “My friend’s house is next to the West Highland Line and at one point I looked down and saw what I first thought was a black Labrador on the tracks.

“There were trains coming and going throughout the day and I was a bit concerned, but when I looked again I saw that the animal wasn’t moving the way I expected a dog to.

“It was then I realised that what I was seeing was a big cat and I shouted on my friend to come and have a look. We were stunned.”

After running to his car to grab his camera phone, Pc Swallow stood on the rail bridge at Winston Road and got a still photo and a couple of minutes of footage of the animal moving up the railway line.

He added: “It was remarkable. I’ve heard stories about creatures like this moving about the countryside, but never really believed them before. Looking back at the video I don’t think there’s any doubt that it’s a big cat.”

The Coulport Cougar was first reported in June 2004. The creature was described as being tan and prowling the woods and hills around Loch Long, Portincaple, Whistlefield and next to the Coulport access road.

However, another creature, described as being black in colour, was also spotted at the nearby Garelochhead Training Camp, leading some people to believe that there may also have been a panther in the area.

John Belshaw, pest control officer at the Faslane naval base, said he had spoken to people in the past who had been “quite shaken” by seeing a big cat cross the road in front of them during the night.

Mr Belshaw said: “I have had a look at Chris’s footage and have to say that I do not believe it is a domestic cat or a dog.

“At one point in the video it seems to walk on the railway line and a dog simply wouldn’t have had the balance to do this.

“Also, you can tell from the size of the track that it is much larger than a house cat.”

There have been regular reports of big cat sightings across the UK, leading to speculation that they may have escaped from a private zoo or collection.

‘Very exciting’

Shaun Stevens, a researcher with the Big Cats in Britain group, said: “We have regular sightings reported every year of large black cats in the Helensburgh area and it appears to be a favourite haunt of these animals.

“In Argyll, I probably get to hear of maybe 20 or 30 sightings in a year. In the UK we get a sighting practically every day.”

Mr Stevens said he believed the cats could be a hybrid species, or possible an entirely new species.

“I myself have photographed a black hybrid cat of over 3.5ft in length,” he said.

“Knowing the width of the rail tracks in Chris’s video is 4ft 8.5in, the animal photographed by him is clearly in excess of 4ft and as such is certainly not a domestic cat.

“Initial first impressions are very exciting, as I think this could be one of the best pieces of footage of a big cat in the UK ever.”

The Perth Orbs are interesting.

I zoomed in on the face orb 7/27/09 article and on closer observation you can see another face on the NECK of the face. There you can clearly see the face of a man. The hair, eyes, ears, nose and mouth of a man. COOL!!

I have some similar photos that I took at my aunts house in Silverstone, NC in January 09. The face orbs in my photos show some pretty amazing detail. Her house is known to be haunted and always very active. I had set up a camera in the hallway on this night and captured the face of a man and using my digital had taken a few pics in the den which show the face of a little girl with blonde hair which appeared after uploading.

On this same night my boyfriend had taken some pictures of the upstairs. He and I were the only ones on the upper level of the house at the time. One of the photos was captured as we were walking toward the hallway. He was taking a pic of the back of me with him walking behind me and when it was uploaded it clearly shows two hands holding my shoulders. It is a rather creepy photo as well as the little girl that appeared.

My aunt married my uncle in the early 70s and they built the house on family property. After digging and dozing there were allot of Indian artifacts found. A few days later the family dog had dug up a mysterious plastic bag and was carrying the bag in its mouth to show to my aunt. The dog dropped the bag at her feet then lay down to be petted. When she picked the bag up and opened it she was shocked to find that it contained two pair of HUMAN HANDS. One was a woman and the other a child’s. There was no deteriorating of these hands as far as I know and the flesh still intact. She placed the bag of hands in her car and drove over to my grandmothers house to show to her. My grandmother was shocked by what she had displayed and told her that she should immediately call the local police and report the finding. She was afraid to report it because of fearing that whoever had committed a murder on her new property might find out that she had discovered the hands and would possibly come after her and her family and kill them too. She told my grandmother to just throw the bag of hands in the trash and keep quiet about it to protect the family from any harm that might come from reporting a probable crime. My grandmother had promised to throw them in the trash but 2 years later during the holidays my mother, aunt and grandmother were talking after dinner when the hands subject came up. My grandmother told them that she had decided to NOT throw the hands in the trash that day and had KEPT them hidden in the attic of her home for the past 2 years as she was afraid that if she threw the hands of these dead souls away that their spirits might come back and haunt her and the family. She had felt very uneasy having the hands in her house and wished that the discovery of the mysterious human hands had never happened. My aunt and mother told her that they couldn’t believe that she had been brave enough to hide and keep those hands and so she told them that they weren’t the ones who had to live with them. She hid them away in hopes that everyone would be safe.

I found out about the mysterious hands through family conversation in the mid 1980s and from then on has been the topic since. I remember as a child visiting my aunt and spending the night there. I slept in the bedroom that was occupied by my cousin. It was a very unpleasant experience. The house was indeed haunted. Whatever spirit or spirits remained there were very angry ones. The bed I slept on would shake and my cousin and I could hear whispering voices coming from outside the room in the hallway. We just lay there staring at each other and afraid to move all night.

My younger brother was telling me some years back that he had spent the night there only once and that he awoke that night because he had heard whispering voices. He said that following these voices he rolled over in bed onto his back and when he looked up he could see my aunt floating over the top of him and looking down at him laughing with this evil laughter in her voice. He said the thing that creeped him out the most about his experience was the glow of red in her eyes. He said that he got up and ran down the hallway into her room and there she was unmoved..sleeping. Whatever the spirit was had taken the FORM of my aunt. This has happened many times to quite a few people on her property. My older sister had her experience there as well. She, my aunt and I were talking one day about her house being haunted when my sister nervously asked my aunt why she didn’t remember floating over my sister one night laughing this evil laughter with that red glow in her eyes. She had asked my aunt following her eerie experience in the house as well as time and time again why she didn’t remember doing this and my aunt would deny it ever happening. Then finally one day explained to my sister that stuff occurred all the time in her house and that she didn’t want to discuss it because it was so frightening.

My uncle, while almost arriving home from work one day, was rounding the steep drive to the house when he saw my aunt walking towards the house. He stopped to ask her if she wanted a lift but said that she kept walking and never responded as if she didn’t hear him. He went ahead and drove all the way up and parked. He got out of his car and walked inside the house to find that my aunt was there with their daughter preparing dinner and had never even left the house. This has happened several times to several people on that property as well.

The faces in these orbs are very REAL. The mysterious hauntings that visibly prepare these faces are very REAL.

‘She now carries around tarot cards everywhere she goes and is always doing readings for her friends and film crew members. Its kind of cute. She is now telling everyone she knows that the stars are aligned for her and it should not be long before she finds new love’ concluded the associate.

A report has surfaced of a security guard who was said to have been slapped by ghosts in Port Dickson.

It said S. Albert 32, was making his rounds of bungalow houses in Taman Indah Mas at about 5.30am on Friday when he heard noises coming from a vacant unit.

He shone his torchlight through the window and was shocked to see mysterious white figure with red eyes and long hair.

Albert ran to the guards control room and inform his colleague who told him that his face had scratch marks and was bleeding.

Residents who got wind of the incident gathered with batons and sticks to check the empty bungalow but found nothing suspicious.

Policemen later broke the locks to enter the bungalow and found nothing unusual. The crowd were left stunned when the scratch marks on Albert’s face disappeared the moment he washed it with water.

I write and investigate to the best of my ability about encounters of the unknown. Over the years I have talked to many who have had abductions or lost time events involving beings that were not human- taking humans.

Many of the experiences of abduction or lost time I have written about. Other events I have listened to, but did not feel inspired to write about. I do believe most people I talk to yet also feel many are not as truthful as I had hoped they would be.

It is a difficult position to be in when dealing with paranormal subjects. I try to write about events that seem to be truthful and that did actually happen. I rely on logic and years of experience interviewing people as well as my own personal knowledge of some of the subjects I write about. I try hard to avoid attention seekers and agenda folks to the best of my ability.

Like any job skill, you learn with practice how to do it well as you tackle and work your way along all the unknown paths. In time you develop a second sense about the people you talk to and let that guide your judgment. I feel after years of doing this that I have developed a second sense of things and know rather quickly who is telling me an experience that they truly encountered and who is making it up as they go.

I am sure there are many reasons why people do the things they do. My interest however is to bring real experiences of real people to the public in hope paths already walked may one day help those who may have similar roads of lost time or abduction ahead of them. It is far better to have knowledge of things unknown rather then walking blindly into them. Reading what others have experienced may one day help someone survive their own encounter with the unknown.

I know for a fact that the ordeals of others that I have written about have prevented people from making errors that could have had life or death consequences if they had not been prepared by something they had read that lingered in the back of their minds.

Recently I had a young man tell me that while on a hiking trip, he and his friends noticed a strange object hovering over the lake where they were walking.

His friends wanted to try to find a way to get closer to the craft so they could try to call out to it. He was able to talk his friends into returning to a nearby cabin with lights and other people nearby. He told me that he read one of my articles and knew they would be far better off finding other people and shelter, and understood that calling out and offering themselves to the unknown was not a good idea at all.

I think this man’s use of the knowledge he had tucked in the back of his mind may have saved him and his friends from a possible abduction experience.

I cringe each time I read or hear about people who go out to deserted areas in order to try to draw unknown craft and beings to their location. I can only shake my head as I listen to ideas of using laser lights, radio signals, and even camp fires and smoke signals to try to draw the creatures of the unknown to their location. I can only wonder what these people are thinking?

I am curious how they know they will catch the attention of kind, benevolent beings? I am far more curious why they think they would be chosen to be contacted, when it is obvious our visitors take extreme caution and care in whom sees them and whom they take?

I also wonder how they would feel if emotionless beings who care little about the human race arrived, took them and what they wanted from their bodies and discarded them once done like worms or rats?

I wonder why they do not think out these things? Do they really think that this type of careless action could not bring them harm?

Are these people living under some ridiculous notion that nothing bad will ever happen to them? Theses reckless dangerous behaviors have always been a mystery to me.

My reasoning for feeling as I do about this comes from my understanding of ‘The Fear’. The fear is the key that makes me pay close attention to those I talk to who claim they have had a close encounter with other beings. When I see or hear this fear that I have come to know so well, I usually believe who I am talking to.

There is fear that is so horrid you feel you will not be able to survive it. This fear is a heart stopping, paralyzing sense so strong you are certain it will kill you. It is of absolute horror – a feel of fright that is like no other. It is a fear that life has stopped as you have known it, and something else deadly and sick now replaces it.

This devastating fear is what a human being feels when face to face with a situation they do not think they will live through. It is a feeling that locks your senses and over takes your body with such power you do not think you will live another second.

This overpowering, gut retching fear is what is felt when your are alone looking into the non-human face of a creature you have never seen before. This is what is felt when you have lost control of your surroundings and find yourself being completely controlled by others.

This fear is what you feel when your destiny is in the hands of a being that is alien and cold and you find you are powerless and without choice to do anything about it.

This fear is what those who are taken against their will feel when abducted by beings that are not human, and are not asking but taking you without your consent. This fear is why I find those who go looking for aliens with flashlights and cameras extremely foolish and child-like in their thinking.

I have been told by a few that they have had wonderful adventures and loved their abduction of being taken by aliens. I find it hard to believe anyone would love to be taken against his or her will under any circumstance. I have never heard of anyone being asked if they wish to be taken, examined or questioned.

I have only been told of those who have been taken- against their will. That one fact seems to be the main truth of the alien abduction agenda – they take us without permission.

Be it a child, teen, adult, or senior citizen, if they want you they simply take you. I do not find that friendly or fun.

It would be far too harsh for me to say I do not believe the claims of those who talk about being taken by lovely beings who fly them about the universe in scenic flights while sharing a lovely chat about the meaning of life. I will say I personally do not find any interest in this type of report. I am far more involved and drawn to the less fabulous but far more realistic reports that have common threads that run from report to report.

The common threads I do find in those I feel have had alien abductions include:

1. Being taken against their will

2. Not recalling much or any of the events, however do suffer from hellish flash backs of things they do not understand

3. Suffer the incredible fear when encountering a partial memory or flash back.

4. Are fearful this will happen to them again

5. Many felt ill after the event and report having rashes, sick to their stomachs, or have strange bruises or body changes that can last for years, if not a life time.

There are exceptions with alien contact that takes place when humans encounter the human like aliens that also visit this planet. I understand people who have had face-to-face encounters with beings that fit in with our concept of humanoid looking creatures have a far less traumatic close encounter.

When confronted with a being that looks similar to a human and who is able to communicate with humans in familiar ways, the initial overwhelming fear is far easier to handle. I have spoken with those who have had dealings with this human type of being. They told me they were of course cautious knowing they were in contact with a creature that was not human, but did not have that deadly fear of those who encounter the other forms of aliens.

As comfortable as they may be with this type of visitor, it is always clear they are having an encounter with a non-human being and caution remains paramount in their dealings.

It is clear that those chosen to have contact with the human type of alien also have returned with nearly the same exact message from our visitors to mankind… These people do not know each other and come from many different walks of life, yet they all have been told to try to get our fellow earthlings to listen to reason and to start being better beings. Our ongoing obsession with war, hate, and genocide are something aliens find primitive and barbaric.

It seems the aliens that are human in appearance are those who truly want to warn us about becoming a less violent hate filled society, and do want to see us evolve into beings worthy of joining the other universal societies.

I am aware that other visitors to our planet really have no interest one way or the other about our evolution and simply take us to observe earthlings as they do other less evolved life forms they come across in this vast universe.

They do not interfere with our growth as beings nor do they care about how fast we advance of even if we survive. Those choices and challenges of growth are being left to us as the evolving creatures of earth. They do not care or have interest in our development.

Visitors to our planet do seem to acknowledge in their own way that we are viewed as violent, self-destroying animals that have only recently started to advance into the area of technology. I am sure it would be like our visiting a planet where they just discovered the wheel and the use of fire.

If that seems too harsh a comparison, think of finding a planet where the world is still without electric and dependent on horses and elephants for travel. I think that a fair comparison to the differences between mankind on earth and our visiting alien neighbors.

The fact of the matter is that being taken by those who view us with curiosity is for me a terrifying idea. Being viewed with the same attitude we view monkeys or lab rats is an extremely frightening event to endure.

The reason I understand this is because I have known this fear, and I have shared this feeling with others like me. It is a mortifying experience to be on the wrong end of the microscope.

It is something that changes your life and cannot be placed aside or forgotten. It also is a hard world to be in when those who have no idea about these things mock and ridicule you for talking about your encounters, making them even crueler and harder to endure.

Every time I write about my own experiences I receive two types of emails. One is from those who have been enduring the same things and have lived through an abduction.

The other emails are from cruel, nasty humans attacking me for writing the truth about these things. I am called names, insulted and laughed at. Each and every time I write about my experience with creatures we know as aliens

I am sent hate filled emails by people I have never met. I imagine I make those who wish to live in fantasy angry and frighten those who do not want any of this to be true. It is sad, but that this is the nature of humans. They quickly become unkind and vicious to those who do not tell them what they want to hear, and filled with anger at those who talk of things they do not want to be real.

I will continue to write what I have seen and encountered. If I can go through that heart-stopping fear and live to talk about it, the least I can do is be a voice for all others like me. I know how difficult it is enduring an abduction and also what it is like to go through a second abuse by way of the reactions of your own kind.

I think it is best said that until you experience ‘THE FEAR ‘ that goes hand and hand with those who have had a close encounter with a being of unknown origin, you cannot understand the emotional life long horror that follows abductees through each and every day. That fear is why I write and why I will stand up for those who live daily and have encountered the road of being taken.

Be careful out there and always be fully aware of what you wish for. Some dreams do come true and those nightmares can last a lifetime.

John Hubert, a member of the board of directors of the High Plains Historical Society, inspects a glob of green glass that fellow board member and McCook historian Walt Sehnert believes could have been created during a “UFO landing” northwest of Benkelman in 1884. Sehnert said descriptions of the glass glob include “lime jello with cottage cheese.” Others describe it as “end-of-the-day” glass in the manufacture of Coca-Cola 7-Up bottles. A summer visitor to the museum, Robert Golka of Massachusetts, is requesting that the museum and the DAR (which owns the piece of glass on display at the museum) be analyzed by the Corning Glass Institute.

A disheveled and confused-looking Shelley Duvall – star of the classic horror movie The Shining – is trapped in her own living nightmare, and concerned neighbors in her tiny Texas town think she “desperately needs help.”

The once reed-thin actress has packed on about 75 pounds since her Hollywood glory days and lives the life of a near-recluse in a ramshackle home off a dirt road outside Blanco, Texas.

The ENQUIRER visited the town of 1,500, where residents tell a sad story about the former Hollywood star. Friends and neighbors say Shelley is an odd woman who often appears out of touch with reality. She flashes her car lights at night to communicate with space aliens, believes a hole in her backyard is a portal to another dimension and lives in fear of aliens who are out to get her.

At age 60, Shelley still clings to her dream of returning to acting, though her last movie role was in 2002.

“Shelley wanders around town by herself, looking disheveled, strange and, to be honest, totally crazy. She mutters to herself and talks about aliens living in her body,” a Blanco resident told THE ENQUIRER.

Despite being able to carry on a completely lucid in-person interview Duvall, recalls fondly her Hollywood days and still aspires to what most actors want – their next part.

“I would love to go back to acting if it was the right role,” Shelley said.

After a killer earthquake struck Los Angeles in 1994, Duvall fled Hollywood back home to Texas.

Yet the one time Stanley Kubrick star who won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival in 1977 for Three Women is now someone local Dairy Queen employees shy away from.

A hardware store source told The ENQUIRER once Shelley asked for dirt and boards to board up a hole in her backyard.

“She said, ‘That’s a portal into another dimension. That’s where the aliens are coming in,’ ” the source recalled.

“Shelley is…tragic. A virtual recluse, wandering about Blanco in a fog,” another source said.

“She desperately needs help.”

NOTE: granted, this is from the Enquirer and Ms. Duvall has exhibited strange behavior in the past (the Olive Oyl character was more truth than fiction, IMO)…but, it’s an interesting scenario nonetheless. BTW, I’m not making any comparisons with the Perth orbs situation. Don’t even go there! …Lon

Six weeks ago, I received an email from Paul Cochrane of Perth, Western Australia in reference to persistent paranormal activity in his home. The content of the letter exhibited frustration and a plea to help find an individual or group in his general area to investigate. He explained that the entities have been present for 14 years and have followed him to each new home, a total of three different locations. Paul had started to document the events on videotape then placing these on YouTube.

At the time, I was involved in a few other projects so I didn’t initially get started until a few days had passed. To be honest, I receive a multitude of emails daily from my readers and Paul’s email was in the queue. Eventually, I went to his YouTube channel and started to watch the clips. Well, I shot off an email to Paul within a few minutes and offered my help.

Immediately, I posted a notice on the Phantoms and Monsters wiki and the IPAA site asking for assistance. I knew that this would require the effort of several people who had experience in different facets of the paranormal. The response was slow at first, but as time went on and Paul started to post more videos of the activity, my friends and associates came to the call.

For approximately three weeks, there was a steady discussion on our wiki threads. It seemed that each day, Paul would post a more compelling video and state that the entities had faces and animate shapes, as well as making a rudimentary effort to communicate with him. To bolster his claim, his young son also acknowledged the activity. Each new video displayed orbs of various shapes and sizes. Occasionally, hundreds of these orbs would move in and out of walls and furniture in all directions and speeds within minutes. I and others tried to enhance screen captures on a daily basis hoping something tangible would appear. Then it happened.

I received a hurried email from Paul titled ‘got a face’. I had just awakened and hadn’t had a chance to start the coffee maker, so I was still a bit groggy. I went over to his YouTube channel and looked at one of the two new videos. Early on in the first video I brought up (#70 at 0.11 as a matter of fact) was an orb traveling across the screen that had visible structure to it. Paul had inscribed on the screen ‘this is the face orb now she’s posing 4 me’. I took a screen capture, enlarged the image and enhanced the contrast. My God! It’s a face! Right away, I uploaded the image to the wiki and directly to several associates as well as posting it on Phantoms and Monsters.

Later that day, a graphic artist volunteered to further enlarge and enhance the image without retouching any of the pixels. The result was ‘The Face in the Orb’. Now the big question…what is it?

There still has not been a physical investigation on the premises and it’s imperative that this be done in order to further explain the phenomena. In the meantime, there will be efforts to capture sound and/or EVP from these entities. There has been a lot of speculation on the internet this weekend and the range of theories is quite broad as expected. But, this is not going to hinder me from giving my thoughts as to what this is.

As you can imagine, I have conversed with many people in the paranormal field since the beginning of my involvement in this sojourn. Let me state that my theory does not directly reflect the opinion of anybody connected to this incident. This includes Paul, my associates and others who have helped in this matter. I make these statements solely as my personal assessment.

OK…here we go. I believe this entity, in particular ‘The Face in the Orb’, to be a spirit of a young female hybrid being. As to other entities, apparitions, etc. that are present at this location…I cannot state or determine what these are until further study is done. When I refer to ‘hybrid’, I mean a mixing of DNA of an alien or non-human species and humans. As to where this hybrid came from, I have no solid evidence. The reference ‘spirit’ simply means that this being died at some point and released some type of life force or energy that presents itself on our plane of existence. The fact that the orbs in the videos seem to effortlessly move in and out of sight tends to reinforce a theory that these spirits can crossover to other dimensions. I am convinced that these entities are attracted to Paul for a specific reason, if only to collect energy, and have no intention of moving on…at least for the time being.

In the meantime, we will continue to study the phenomena and are committed to lending assistance when needed…Lon
